Overcoming Your Perfectionist Bent
You can spend a lifetime trying to make your product perfect. Trust me, they will never be perfect! Do the best you can do and get it out there. With all of the money you make from this first round of products you can always improve them. If you feel guilty about this, send the people who bought the first product an offer to buy the new program at cost or slightly above cost. This will build a lot of good will and alleviate your guilt.
There’s another good reason not to strive for perfection in your product line. Customers who have good ideas about how to improve your product will come to you with those suggestions and you can continue to upgrade your quality. If you have a program that doesn’t leave room for improvement, you eliminate a channel of communication with your customers.
