If you are relying on the web to provide traffic and sales for your information marketing business, getting traffic is a big deal. Naturally, you are interested in the RIGHT traffic, meaning the people who are seriously interested in what you have to offer. But it all starts with SOME traffic.
Corbett Barr has a somewhat irreverent blog post that has generated a lot of comment, so he posted it again this week. Refreshing and re-posting in order to keep up with the times is not a bad idea, and he’s using it to his advantage, as well as his audience’s.
His post is called 42 Timeless Ideas For Attracting More Visitors To Your Website. Here are a few of his ideas for you now:
“1. Truly incredible content, products or services can be your best marketing tool. Everything you do online has to start with creating something incredible.
2. Interview someone exciting. You’ll learn something and the interviewee will probably share your session if you do a great job.
3. The best audience is a captive one. Instead of constantly relying on other sources of traffic, create your own by getting your visitors to subscribe for updates from you (focus on email first, social media second).
4. See what works best over time. Just keep the best interests of your audience in mind and don’t do anything you don’t appreciate yourself.”
Well, that’s only four items from Barr’s list, but it’s plenty to get started building and optimizing landing pages and web pages to attract more traffic for your information products.
