Like everyone, I get a ton of email Most of it crap! Information marketing has made me a “popular” figure and I get requests for deals of all sorts all the time. The latest email that I got has caused me to write this post.

I suspect that you get people who approach YOU as well. I like having a STANDARD method of responding. This way it takes me NO time to get back to people and I say exactly what I want to say without having to do any thinking.

Here is what I send people:

“Thanks for getting in touch. As you can probably imagine, I get approached daily with various requests. One of the hazards of being a well known info marketer. I’m sure you have something of great value to share, so I’ve set up a very specific way for us to work together.

The first step is to have you attend one of my Fred Info Bootcamps. This will prove to me that you are wiling to spend both the time and the money to learn what I do. If you attend, you’ll get a PHd. in information marketing. This will help you regardless of whether we decide to work together.

During the week you’re here, we’ll get to know each other. This way we’ll see if we “click” on a number of different levels.

I know that many other “gurus” make the process of doing deals a LOT easier. Unfortunately this is the ONLY way that I consider doing them. I completely understand if this doesn’t work for you.

If you DO want to consider working together, I look forward to seeing you at the next bootcamp. The site lists the upcoming dates. It’s both a lot of work AND a lot of fun. I look forward to seeing you there.”

This is verbatim what I email people.

Some people think I’m being HARSH to do things this way. I don’t at all. My time, like yours is valuable. I don’t have time to spend seeing whether or not people are REAL. The only way I will know it (from experience) is if they are willing to take the time and spend the money to attend an event.

At the LIVE event it is amazing how easy it is to see if we would work well together.

That’s my system and I’m sticking to it.

Has this system failed me? Yes, it has. I’ve had people attend bootcamps and then things didn’t work out between us. BUT, no system is fail safe. I suggest you follow my lead and devise a way that works for you.
