Your Information Marketing Writing Career
It may be that you don’t think of yourself as a writer. But unless you are going to rely on the writing of other people, and deal with the inevitable frustrations of getting exactly what you want from those people, you’d better be planning on doing your own writing. Your information marketing writing career is part of building your business, a big part.
Whether you are writing blog posts or emails, articles or e-books, you are flexing your writing muscles. Just like physical exercise, every little bit makes a difference. You can vastly improve your writing skills by writing consistently just 15 minutes per day. You can produce a simple blog post in a quarter of an hour. It may not be your best work, but it will capture your thoughts and move you ahead another notch on the path of becoming confident and competent.
I am always surprised at how hesitant most people feel about writing. I think that reaction is left-over from school when somebody was literally or figuratively ready to slap our hands with a ruler if we made a mistake. (I actually know quite a few people who had that experience.) Teachers cannot use that type of motivation now, but they can still leave a deep impression that keeps students from enjoying their writing, or wanting to improve throughout life.
Just remember that your information marketing writing career does NOT require a college or graduate degree, and it is not judged by a composition teacher giving you a grade. It is judged, you might say, by your readers. If they opt-in to your sites and buy your information products, your writing is working!
