Writing Web Copy – Peter Beckwith
The copy for your website is critical for your success. The problem for me has always been whether or not to write it myself or pay someone else to write it for me.
Unless you happen to be a great copywriter, it makes it tough. The problem is that it is often costly. Luckily, my friend Peter is bringing back some affordability to the process.
Peter has written sites for me. In fact, he got his ‘training’ when we were partners a number of years ago and we (more realistically – HE) went through a mentorship program with a moderately well known copywriter.
Peter is starting to spend more time at home and is interested in building the copywriting side of his business. He also does coaching. As we speak he is ‘cleaning up’ a book for me on small business marketing.

If you’re interested, he’s doing a ‘special.’ This pricing will NOT be around for long. What normally happens with good copywriters is that they get discovered and then their prices go through the roof.
Here’s how he’s doing his pricing. IF he accepts you as a client he’ll do an EIGHT PAGE WEBSITE for just $997 + 10% of whatever you gross.
He is pricing his services so that the majority of what he makes will be on the ‘back-end.’ Peter asked me to apologize in advance if he can’t take you on as a client because your product or service doesn’t fit.
He will have to be selective to make sure he makes his money from the 10%.

Info product creation and marketing is my MAIN thing. I just put up a site called: http://www.InfoProductsEvent.com

I think you’ll find it very interesting. I am selling both a product and a license on this site. Please feel free to ‘borrow’ my idea for your own sites.
The idea is that when you create a product you should seriously consider licensing that same products as well.
Many information marketers get nervous. They think that if they offer a license to a ‘staple’ product, they will be canablizing their own business. Their thinking is that they could sell a lot more of the individual products if they don’t offer a license.
I think this is POVERTY CONSCIOUS thinking.
Those of us who practice Prosperity Conscious thinking understand that selling licenses can only HELP us to sell more of our other back-end products and services.
When you produce a products, imbed it with plenty of bounce-back offers for your other products and services and then go out and sell the crud out of the licenses.
Net result? You’ll make a lot MORE money. Maybe not up front, but certainly over the long haul.
The next question is always what to charge for the licenses. The usual formula I use is to take the retail price of your product and multiply it by 10-12 times to get the cost of the license.
Take a look at the website I mentioned. It will show you how I’m doing it. You can TEST my prices or try some of your own and see how it works.
I had a great conversation with one of my ‘newer’ friends, Drew, from St. Louis. We talked about a lot of things, but we eventually started talking about speakers.
Who we liked, who we didn’t and why.

Lou Heckler is an example of someone who I think is one of the TRUE masters of the game of speaking. I’m paying a bunch of money to be in a group with Lou in a couple of months.
Lou is one of the most NATURAL speakers I’ve ever seen. When people ask me who I’m most impressed with as a speaker, his name always seems to come out first.

Next Info Products Seminar
I will be doing my OWN Info Products Seminar here in Las Vegas some time in the late Spring. I’ll be deciding on a date shortly and will send you the details as soon as they are available.
I rarely recommend events put on by other people. One of the rare exceptions is my friend Yanik Silver. Take a look at:
I was at this event last year and it was phenomenal I highly suggest you take a look and see if you can make it. If you do go, we’ll have a special meeting one night of just the Fred folks.
I’m SERIOUSLY thinking about taking a sabbatical. The idea would be to take some time off and chill.
Frankly, I’m not sure how long I could last doing this but I think it would be very helpful. Since I enjoy working I’m actually a little worried about the concept.
In the academic community, it seems to work very well. Professors, after ‘X’ number of years of tenure get to take a full year off and just hang out.
I’m now in a financial position to do this and I’m curious to hear from anyone who has taken a big chunk of time off and how it worked for them.

Good news. I used my ‘system’ that I have talked about here over the last few months and it has worked.
For those of you who may not have read about it, I put up a ‘personal’ site and drove traffic to that site through a variety of means.
I’m now happy to report that I’m seeing a wonderful woman who lives in the LA area. The weirdest thing about it is that she has two kids (what a concept!). So far I’m finding that being an ‘adopted’ Dad is sort of cool.
Since I have always told my friends that I am really attracted to bright women I don’t mind sharing one fact about her. She TURNED DOWN Harvard to go to M.I.T. for her Masters Degree.
