Who You Choose to Show on FB Posts

Spending a lot of time on Facebook? Using FB for both business and friendship purposes? Me too.

One of the things you need to be careful of is who you directly AND INDIRECTLY seem to endorse. I recently saw a friend request from a woman I had never heard of before.

I looked at her list of friends and saw some people that would NOT be on my list of people to invite to dinner. Net result? This hurt her.

Assuming that the “goal” is to accumulate as many friends on FB as possible so you can start cajoling them into going to your sites and spending money with you.

Also, what’s up with this BECOME A FAN crap! Anytime I see someone who has set themselves up this way it SMELLS arrogant as hell to me. Become a FAN of this person or that! No thanks.

Hero worship is not what gets me excited. I’m sure there are other good reasons to set yourself up this way, but my suggestion: DON’T DO IT!

You look like an arrogant S.O.B. (or whatever the female equivalent is for the ladies).

Also, don’t be foolish enough to think that your competitors aren’t following you on all your social networking sites. They are watching you like hawks  eagerly waiting to STEAL ideas that you come up with.

The nice thing is that if you have GREAT content and idea and make them “instructor dependent” you will always be OK.

Instructor dependent? Making it so that only YOU can do something. If you do things like that make sure the service you’re providing is at the HIGH end!! Not some $200 service.
