Why You Should Use Wordress*
WordPress used to be the program you used to create a blog that went on your website. Now, it’s morphed into something much bigger. It’s now the “platform” for the creation of your “full” website.
WordPress websites have a lot of different benefits. All of these add up to making it very difficult for anyone to convince me that they should NOT be using WordPress to create and design their sites.
If you have a WordPress site, it’s super easy for you to add or edit content on your site. This is NOT like the “old days” when you had to pay some web guy/gal to make a couple of changes on your site for $75. The vast majority of content you’ll want to add or change can now be done by YOU!
Because of the way they are structured, WordPress sites are very “SEO Friendly”. This means that the search engines find them easy to index and rank. The net benefit for you is that you’ll have an easier time getting your sites ranked in Google and the other search engines for your keyword terms.
WordPress has a boatload of THEMES for you to choose from. Everytime you put up a WordpPress site, there will be a “default” theme. This looks pretty basic. In a matter of minutes you can change the look and feel of any site by changing themes. It’s kind of like the SHELL of your site.
Some of these themes are paid, but many of them are free. Look around to see what fits your site and your budget. Then install a WordPress theme that makes sense for you.
In addition to lots of themes which serve as the SHELL of your site, WordPress also have a TON of what are called “plug-ins”. Plug-ins allow you to add bells and whistles to your website. Anything from adding a form on your site or creating a forum, these and a lot more things can be done with plug-ins. Like themes, there are both free and paid plug-ins.
