Sorry for the delay in communicating lately. LOTS going on.

I just came back from 3 days in New Hampshire recording a product which will soon be released with Glenn Livingston, Terry Dean and David Oliver and Dr. Sharon Livingston.

A little bit about each one of these guys.

Glenn is THE expert on Google Adwords at the ADVANCED level. There may be other
gurus who know something about Adwords on a basic level, but he’s the guy you go to when you want the Phd level stuff.

Why is this important to you?

As an information marketer, it’s getting tougher and tougher to make Google Adwords WORK. Glenn will show you how to make that happen.

Example of How I Do Coaching/Consulting

Some people have gotten back to me about my approach to coaching/consulting work. In case you don’t remember, I use a very “harsh” approach. When people contact me I let them know that unless I’m getting paid I’m not going to get together and meet for coffee.

Here is the exact text of an email I had go back and forth between me and this client:

Dear XXX,

Thanks for the contact.

I do no work without getting paid first. I wrote the book on self storage marketing so if that’s what you’re looking for, I’m the right guy.

I suggest you either send a check or go to and send in a $500 retainer.

After that I’ll be happy to review anything you want.

Since I get paid for my time, I do NO work without getting paid first. No phone calls, no research, no reading, no NOTHING without a check first.

It would be like stealing my inventory to do any different. As a business person I’m SURE you understand.

If this does NOT make sense to you, please find someone else.


The result? – Right below. Response time? 32 minutes and I got this:

Thank you for the quick response….

A $500 retainer is fine….

Your website does not accept my Gold American express as a method of payment….I tried twice…(I do not use PayPal…)

If I hear from you via return email on how to pay with my American express, I will follow your direction…

If I do not hear from you by the end of the day, I will mail you a check…

Thank you
(Client Name)

I give you this example to PROVE to you that this approach works.

When I got together with this client earlier today we had a very productive meeting. Towards the end of the meeting I told him that my primary criteria for working with someone were:

1. Can I REALLY help them
2. Do I LIKE them

With him, luckily, both were true.

He is now waiting for me to send him a proposal for what I’ll do for him and how much it will cost.

I expect to work with him and trust it will be VERY beneficial for both of us.

When you think about listening to someone who CLAIMS to be an expert at creating and developing products, PLEASE ask them these three questions:

1. How many hours of audio and video products have they created for themselves and their clients to date?

2. How many of your own products are you currently selling to your OWN niche markets? How many websites do you have? Can I see a few of them?

(If you get a perplexed look in person or a long pause over the phone, I suggest you keep moving)
