Information Marketing: Traffic Quadrants

This short video shows you the 4 quadrants of traffic generation that you’ll want to use as an info product marketer. You’ll learn each of the 4 areas and how to use them effectively.

Now that you’ve been successful in setting up your domain, it’s time to start driving traffic. This may seem like a daunting task, but in reality, it’s quite simple. You just need to learn to walk before you can run.

There are four quadrants of traffic-generation advertising: Paid off-line, paid online, unpaid off-line, and unpaid online.

Paid off-line advertising would include paid advertisements in newspapers and magazines. Most newspapers and magazines will charge by the word, so choose your advertising media carefully. Stick with newspapers and magazines that have higher circulation and more exposure. Smaller, local newspapers will work just as well if your website is designed to promote business at the local level, but do your research, and ask yourself how much you want to invest in off-line paid advertising versus the potential sales yield of your product.

With unpaid offline advertising, think publicity. Interviews with magazines, local or national newspapers, and TV crews will boost your chances of success, if you go about it the right way. Word of mouth can generate positive exposure as well as negative, so choose your words carefully, especially if you intend to generate exposure on a national scale.

Paid online advertising refers to pay-by-click advertising, where you pay other websites to advertise yours, and unpaid online advertising keeps it nice and simple…Search Engine Optimization and keywords.

Write out a list of activities within each of these quadrants and circle one or two that you believe might work best for you. Once you’ve narrowed it down, do one or two of these activities a day on a rotating basis. If you stick with it, your chances for success will improve.
