Speaking and Information Marketing
If you’re in the information marketing business, then speaking has got to be something you learn how to do. WELL! The problem with most people who sell info products is that they watch the Flim-Flam guys who speak at seminars and try to sell people more than educate them.
There is nothing wrong with trying to sell people, but don’t forget to deliver real value first.
People always comment on how much content I deliver when I speak. It’s something that I take a lot of pride in. Although I don’t sell AS much as the folks who basically do an INFOMERCIAL in front of a group, I hold my own pretty well.
I do end up getting a lot of people who do business with me for years to come.
YOU need to learn how to speak and do so effectively if you’re in the information marketing business. This is not an optional item. Speaking well will help you make a lot more money and reach a lot more people.
The problem is figuring out where to go to LEARN these skills. There are a bunch of people who claim to teach you how to speak. I do a regular event twice a year that uses improv comedy as the basis for speaking training. If you get a chance, I suggest you try and make it to one of these.
Whatever you do, take the time to learn how to speak and speak well. Information marketing is all about communicating. Although most of it is done online, your big money will come when you get to speak in front of a LOT of people LIVE and in person.
